Troubleshooting & Common Questions
Q: Why can’t I use AI Email Assist on a new message?
A: Ensure your message is a public message or draft in either your personal solo inbox or a shared team inbox. AI Email Assist will not activate on unpublished draft messages and will return the following message: ’This appears to be a private message. To use the AI Reply Generator, please make the message public or use it with a shared message.’
Q: Can I customise the tone or style of replies?
A: Yes. Use a prompt like “make it concise” or “use a friendly tone” to guide how the AI responds.
Q: Which AI is being used?
A: Anthropic Claude 3 Sonnet, running within the Sedna AWS infrastructure - a private copy of the model, this means your data is not shared with model providers or used to improve the base models.
Q: Are Sedna storing any of my prompts or responses from the model?
A: No, the prompts and responses are not stored, for statistical purposes, Sedna are logging: tenant, message and response ID, along with a timestamp and token amounts in/out.
Q. Does the AI have access to the whole inbox? Or all the inboxes I have access to?
A: Neither! Once you open the app, the AI model only has access to the email currently open in Sedna. The Sedna user and email content is sent to the model, and a response is generated/returned. During transit, data is processed in ephemeral memory - meaning, after processing is complete the data/memory is cleared - not stored.
Best Practices & Tips
- Be clear in your prompts for more accurate results
- Always review AI drafts for accuracy before sending
- Use it as a starting point – tailor the message to your voice when needed
