The challenge for many in the Shipping Industry is managing high volumes of communication, especially if they work on multiple teams. We have just released a number of new features and product updates to help you take action on messages in a faster and more efficient manner.
1. Store All
With SEDNA, you can now select multiple messages from the list view on the left and apply tags, follow or mark as done. A valuable time saver when needing to take action upon a group of messages all at once. You can enable this functionality by clicking the "Select" button just below the "+" sign and an activity bar will open up to the right of your messages. Choose the messages you want to take action, the total number of items selected will increase or decrease accordingly. You can tag, follow or mark as done. Click "Cancel" in order to abandon this search.
2. View as Plain Text
View messages as plain text, removes any HTML formatting so that you can focus on the content of the message. Click the "<>" icon in preview pane of the message to display all standard e-mail messages in plain text format. By clicking "<>" again, you can then turn plain text to the original HTML format.
3. Team Name in Browser Tab
People who work on multiple teams often will open multiple tabs, usually one for each team when working in SEDNA. Before, the tab just said "SEDNA' and people had to try remember which team is for which tab. Now, you can see the name of your team in the tab. And so if you work on the "Operations" team, the tab in your browser will say "Operations - Company".
4. Job Reference Listing & Search Improvements
Job References are now presented alphabetically by vessel name and descending order by voyage number so you can quickly find the right vessel to associate your message. We've also enabled search functionality so that when you click on a Job Reference in the list view, you will see all messages associated with that tag. This mirrors the same functionality available when clicking a job tag in the "Tags" tab on the right.
5. Category Tag Simplification
Many customers have told us that they find category tags to be difficult to use as they are presented each time in a different order and the ones highlighted have little relevance to the user needs. As a result people have to scan the list of tags each time to find the tags they want.
We needed a way to make the tags more efficient for users and decided to simplify the order in two ways. First, we elevated to the top any tag that matches the content presented, i.e. if the subject or body of a message contains a reference to the information in the category tag we present that at the top of the list. Second, if there are no matches, the category tags are presented in alphabetical order.
