We improved the design of the view message pane to provide a faster way for you to gain more context to a message.
Message Author & Recipients
The biggest change you will notice is the inclusion of the message author and recipient data, the information is placed front and center on top of the message within the preview pane and no longer in the tab of functions on the right. In the example below highlighted in red you can see "From" and "To" information and by clicking the arrow buttons to the left of "To/Cc" you'll expose message details for "CC" or "BCC". The system automatically highlights additional people attached to a message, in this case "+2 more" is shown to highlight that two more addresses are included in this message, which are visible by clicking "+2 more" or the arrow buttons left of "To/Cc".
The ability to view messages as plain text is now possible by clicking this button on the right of the message recipient details. By clicking this icon, you remove any HTML formatting so that you can focus on the content of the message to display all standard e-mail messages in plain text format. By clicking the plain text icon again, you can then turn plain text to the original HTML format. This update replaces the previous icon "<>" that was previous situated on the left of the preview pane.
The activity tab on the right contains a toolbox of functions to enhance the meaning of a message. Previously the tab highlighted below in red provided information on the author and recipient details of a message. With the design change today and movement of that information to the top of the preview pane, outlined above, this section is now re-labelled as "TEAMS" tab to show which team has visibility to this particular message.
Store, Follow and Share
These design updates follow the recent changes we highlighted in the post “3 Improvements to Quickly Action Messages." Now all the actions you take upon a message to mark done, follow, or share are accessible from a central location above the message. With the update to the message author and recipient you now have the information in one location to quickly see who the email is from and the ability to immediately take action from the icons directly above.
