Automatic tagging (auto-tagging) is the process of assigning one or more job reference tags, category tags or person tags automatically to a message.
What are the main ways of auto-tagging messages?
At the time of duplication, the new duplicate will inherit all tags (job reference, category and person) that were associated with the original message that it was duplicated from.
2. Message forward (outbound)
At the time of the creation of the message forward, the new message forward will inherit job reference and category tags that were associated with the original message that it was used to generate the forward.
This is a company-level configurable option that is enabled on the backend as per the IT admin request by the Sedna Support team.
3. Message reply/reply all (outbound)
At the time of the creation of the message reply, the new message reply will inherit job reference and category tags that were associated with the original message that it was used to generate the reply.
This is a company-level configurable option that is enabled on the backend as per the IT admin request by the Sedna Support team.
4. Message reply (inbound)
On receipt of a message, Sedna checks the 'in-reply-to' email header, if that value matches a known outbound message, then the inbound message will inherit job reference and category tags that were associated with the original outbound message.
This is a company-level configurable option that is enabled on the backend as per the IT admin request by the Sedna Support team.
5. Workflows
In this scenario, job reference tags, category tags and person tags can be applied to the messages that match the rules created in the Workflow UI. This feature is fully managed by the user who created these rules and can be easily adjusted or deleted.
6. Dynamic job reference rules implemented by the Sedna team (auto-tagging upon message ingestion)
This is a feature in SEDNA that controls the application of job references and keyword tags according to a rule set agreed upon by your Sedna account manager. This rule set is designed to match email message content against data from a customer's system of record to apply the most relevant job reference tag to the message.
The way it works is that once an email is received it will go through the ingest process, where the auto-taggers will run and apply the relevant tags which will be picked up by scanning the subject line of the ingested message and identifying the best match based on different criteria of the job reference tag such as vessel email, vessel name, voyage number, commenced date, etc.
Please note, auto-taggers are administered by the SEDNA technical team and are not accessible directly by our customers. A SEDNA end user can't create, adjust or delete the auto-tagging rules.
7. External tagging solution
Sedna exposes a public API that allows third-party processes to add tags to and remove tags from messages.
