Update roles, teams and sending permissions for a group of users in one go
Bulk actions let you apply the same change to several users, teams or solo inboxes at once, for example giving a group of new joiners the same role. You make the change once instead of editing each record in turn.
You run bulk actions from the Users, Teams and Solo Inboxes lists in Admin Centre, using the toolbar that appears when you select rows.
💡 Note: Only users with the IT Support role can use bulk actions.
When to Use This Feature
Use this feature if you:
- Need to give a group of users access to a new team mailbox, such as a new chartering or operations desk.
- Are moving a group of users to a new default team after a reorganisation.
- Need to add the same role to several users, or archive a group of leavers.
- Want to stop a group of users from sending.
This feature may be less relevant if:
- You need to modify a single user.
- You're setting up brand-new users. Create them with a user profile or import them from a CSV file instead.

Update teams and solo inboxes in bulk
Bulk actions work the same way in Admin Centre → Teams and Admin Centre → Solo Inboxes. Here you can also use Manage users to add users to the selected teams or inboxes.
Troubleshooting & Common Questions
| Question | Answer |
| I used Manage teams, but users still have their old teams. Why? | Bulk team changes only add access and never remove a team. To remove a user from a team, edit that user directly. |
| My selection disappeared. What happened? | Closing the selection toolbar clears your selection. Tick the users again to continue. |
| Disable sending didn't ask me to confirm. Has it worked? | Yes. Disable sending applies straight away, and a message confirms the change. |
| I can't see the bulk actions toolbar. Why? | The toolbar appears once you tick at least one row. Admin Centre is only available to users with the IT Support role. |
Best Practices & Tips
- Filter the list first, for example by Default team, so you only see the users you want to update.
- Before a large change, tick the rows and click Export to keep a record of the users' current setup.
- Agree with team leads before archiving users or disabling sending, so nobody loses access to a live voyage or fixture thread unexpectedly.
