What is Archive For All?
This feature allows designated users (Super Users by default) to archive messages for everyone in your organisation with a single click. When a message is archived “for all users”, it will be removed from all inboxes across the entire organisation, not just from the user's default team view.
For regular users:
- You may notice messages disappearing from your inbox when Super Users archive them “for all users”
- These actions are recorded in the message Activity Panel
- This is designed to clear completed tasks and reduce duplicate work
- If a message you need has been archived, you can check with the Super User who performed the action
For Super Users:
- You have the ability to archive messages for all users in the organisation
- A confirmation prompt will appear before the action is taken
- This action cannot be undone
- Batch archiving of multiple messages at once is supported
Archive For All is particularly useful for:
- Teams working across multiple inboxes or business units
- Organisations with regional hubs sharing communication
- Teams using task-based workflows who want to clearly signal task completion
When should this feature not be used?
This feature may not be suitable for:
- Organisations with strict data siloing requirements
- Workflows where visibility of archived messages needs to be retained within specific groups
- Teams needing independent message archiving across departments
Getting started:
To use this feature, Super Users can select “Archive for all users” from the archive dropdown menu when archiving a message.
Updating permissions:
If you’d like to enable Archive For All for more users, or disable it entirely in your organisation, please contact our Support team via support@sedna.com. We’ll help configure this to meet your specific workflow needs.
Note: Once any changes are made, users may need to refresh their Stream window to see the updated permissions take effect.
