SEDNA has a powerful and fast search allowing you to arrive at a result in under a second.
To begin searching click on the search bar at the top of the screen or use hotkey S. On entering Search you’ll notice an Advanced Filter dropdown display. SEDNA has the power to select specific elements of the search query such as, has:Comment, has:CategoryTag or Time periods; this article will focus on the basics of Search but a full list of terms can be found in Search - Advanced Terms.
The Basics
By default SEDNA will include in the search query the current team Inbox you are viewing as well as the current filter. You can change the teams selected from the sidebar or by text search.
Entering a search term and hitting Enter will run a text search everywhere for that exact words (combined set of words). SEDNA doesn’t support a fuzzy search so if searching for the word ‘order’ it will only return results where ‘order’ is specified and not ‘orders’.
If you wanted to search for specific job begin typing the job reference and select the corresponding Job Tag to return those results. You can further search within those results by entering back into search.
You may want to search for a specific word mentioned in a specific place. To do this type your word and select the relevant “in:”, i.e. `in:body`.
Using OR and NOT
By default entering one search term after another makes the search an AND search.
If you wanted to add in further variables or exclusions you can use the OR and NOT operator terms. To do this enter your first search term then begin typing the operator term, select it then add your next search term.
Further details on Search can be found in Search - Advanced Terms or Search - Custom Query.
